In a group setting, the journey is the same, only you have the option to open up and share it with others. This option can lead to others supporting you and adds a “reliability” component. Sometimes we think we are alone with our barriers, like we are the only ones who experience them. It is comforting and motivating to know that you are not alone. It is also more affordable and can be a social experience, maybe even with a little glass of wine or a pre- or post- meeting walk. You can also set up a group at the workplace as part of a Wellness Program. The first session is one-on-one, then the group typically meets once a week for eight weeks. Unlimited emails are included
The Coaching experience is personal in nature. Together, we form a bond where you can be open and honest with your emotions, your feelings and your resulting actions.
In the first session, preferably face-to-face or at least virtually, we talk about you. I want to learn as much as I can about where you are, how you got there and what you want. Most people can’t effectively answer these questions. They may not really know what these answers. It takes a little more digging and self-discovery. For the best partnership I want to “be in your shoes.” The initial session takes about 45 minutes to an hour. At that time you can decide if you want to continue the coaching process. You will walk away with a little “homework” by first establishing observations of yourself for the week as you go about your day.
The next session, we talk (or the group talks) about what you learned about yourself when it comes to feelings, habits and resulting actions that you observed through the week. Now we can start to pinpoint the barriers that are holding you back. You discover them. I don’t tell you what they are. It can be a very revolating experience!
After the second session we should have a pretty good idea of where our efforts should be going. We will work together week by week and see how you are progressing on your AAA journey. As we go along and you discover more about yourself as it relates to your environment, we will incorporate the actions needed to meet your goals with realistic solutions that you can easily fit into your busy life.
We will continue the partnership either by email, phone call or virtually until you feel comfortable that you have achieved.
